The Week In: Box Office Speculation - Bruckheimer Does It Again (And Again)

I'm new to this box office speculation business so I didn't get my shit together by Wednesday, which was when I should have posted for this long Thanksgiving weekend. Excuse me. It will never happen again.

As families look to go to the movies together this weekend, there will be one clear winner and he won't be human. Happy Feet should really succeed in giving the American people some deja vu this weekend, making us think, "Didn't I just see this movie last weekend?" and also, "I liked this better when it was a glorified PBS documentary."

Bond and Denzel will compete for the same auds this weekend, though I suspect Bond will do better with white girls and Mr. Washington will bring in the sisters. Men will be split, not by race, but by whether or not they saw Bond last weekend and how many times.
